Homecoming is Book 3 in the Trilogy: The Secrets of Clayton County which opens as the economy brings our country more angst, one must wonder about the increase of bartering and if, in our attempt for survival, what would happen if small town America was suddenly flooded with IRS Agents who came to destroy the very fiber of that grasping for existence?
The Secrets of Clayton County is written as a Trilogy, in part to support the author’s experience of bartering as a way of life rather than a deliberate avoidance in paying taxes. The practice, extending over more than two decades, is the foundation of this rather intriguing saga of Sarah Hunter who begins with her first position with the IRS office in Chicago – a job that brings her to Clayton County, Iowa. Sarah is tasked to expose and break up what the IRS deems revenue generation and gross tax avoidance. What Sarah finds instead are many secrets in Clayton County… secrets which ultimately change her life in unforeseen ways; realizing as much as things change, they remain the same.
